COMMUNITY HEALTH AND NUTRITION
Health and nutrition are interrelated, the health programme targets two main components, community health and institutional health.
A team of health workers recruited are trained to actively disseminate health information on pregnant mother care, child health, immunization, hygiene practices, voluntary counseling, on HIV/AIDS. The health workers identify disability cases and give them support. Medical camps are organized by stakeholders to offer health referral services in target centres.
Objectives
- Provide antenatal maternity and postnatal care to ensure safe pregnancy ,delivery for mother and child.
- Provide quality services to the individuals .
- Prevent and control communicable and non communicable diseases.
- To conduct community assessment and diagnosis including the identification of high risk groups
- A picture of student being offerer sanitary towels.
Water Sanitation & Hygiene
Waterborne diseases such as cholera and dysentery are prevalent in the Lake region and associated islands. A campaign for a toilet in every household will be initiated. Schools Sanitation programs will be supported in all schools such as sanitary blocks, water stations with running water facilities and incinerators emphasising Hygiene education and maintenance.
